Jorge Guardia

It’s been a while since I follow Jorge Guardia’s photography, in fact, I felt tempted to write this article in several occasions. However I always wondered if his photos were a mere spark of talent or just begginer’s luck.

Jorge’s path has been remarkable. Starting with his incursion in the world of spotting in 2010, when he was just 15 years old, and from then, he has showed a maturity uncommon for his age, clearing any skepticism about his talent and leaving stunned everyone who could have thought his photographic approach would be ephemeral.

Jorge is growing by giant steps, he has just started and in each photo he is giving us lessons of style and composition. His merits were soon recognized, in 2013 he joins the exclusive team of airteamimages and since 2015 he is a full member of airplane-pictures, which gives him the right to publish photos on the website without the need to be first evaluated by the screeners. His quality is unquestionable.

From Jorge photos, I praise his framing and composition, that perhaps are the two main elements of his perspective on spotting, and that makes his photos look really captivating, and all of this with just one modest Nikon D90 and its sigma 150-500 (with D7200 since two weeks ago), from what he has managed to extract pure gold. All the he is missing on the quality of his camera, he compensates with his talent and creativity, and in addition, from what I’ve been told, he is a great person.

It is quite unusual for a spotter that distinguishes himself with such an impact, from the promise to reality in a blink of an eye. I’m glad to be able to dedicate him these words, and maybe later, I hope I can write some more in a few years and that I can tell what new ingredients he is including in his recipe.

Thank you for being a part of airspotters.org.

You can find more photos of Jorge in flickr, airplanepictures, aviationcorner, o his own website Jorge Guardia Photography.

These that I show are just a short selection among what I liked the most.
